Nazareth Rugby Opens up Head Coaching Position
Taye Daniel, founder and longtime head coach, moves onward from Nazareth Rugby
Taye Daniel is stepping away from the rugby team that he established in 2019. Daniel has been with the team since it started, and since then, they have moved up two divisions, from a division 3 rugby team to a division 1 program. This may come as a shock to most people, as Coach T was very involved in the school’s athletic department and in charge of clubs around campus. Many of the players who started off with the program still play their final years with the team and have watched it flourish throughout the years.
Each year Taye has instilled a light into players who had little drive, motivated them & pushed them to be better. Even though Nazareth Rugby hasn't won any championships yet, a championship caliber was built through Taye & the vision he put out for his team. As of now, Nazareth has an interim head coach filling the roles until the position gets posted online in the upcoming weeks.
There are many comments about the dismissal of the former head coach, but no matter what, everyone on the team has a feeling of uncertainty about what the future holds for them and the team. Moving forward, Nazareth’s main goal is to win, no matter the coach, so the rugby team is still actively competing with the schedule that was put in place before the season began, with high hopes of winning a Championship this season.
